Ingredients:
• 1 cup heavy cream
• 1 cup whole milk
• 1/2 cup granulated sugar
• 1/4 cup cold water
• 2 1/2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin
• 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
• 1/4 cup strawberry liqueur (optional)
Instructions:
1. In a small saucepan, combine the cream, milk, and sugar. Heat over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is hot, but not boiling. Remove from the heat and set aside.
2. In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water and set aside to soften.
3. Puree 1/2 cup of the strawberries in a blender or food processor until smooth. If using, add the strawberry liqueur to the puree and mix well.
4. Add the softened gelatin to the hot cream mixture and stir until the gelatin has completely dissolved.
5. Pour the cream mixture into the strawberry puree and stir until well combined.
6. Pour the mixture into individual serving glasses or ramekins and refrigerate until set, at least 4 hours or overnight.
7. Once the panna cotta is set, top each serving with a spoonful of strawberry puree and sliced fresh strawberries. Serve chilled and enjoy!
Note: You can adjust the amount of puree and fresh strawberries used for topping to your preference. You can also add a sprinkle of powdered sugar or a drizzle of whipped cream for added sweetness and decoration.
